2016 OVSA AND PVSA Recipients

Ohana100 Team contributed a combined total of 2,546.5 community service hours in 2017, earning a team PVSA Gold Award.   This award would not have been possible without the support and dedication of all our volunteers in Hawaii and WNY, who donated their time to Ohana100, serving children.  Mahalo again for believing in our literacy mission.  

Catherine Mattson was our first and youngest OVSA and PVSA Gold Award recipient who completed 102 community service hours in 2017.  This is her second year receiving this award. Way to go Catherine!

Anya Hubbard was OVSA Gold Award and PVSA Silver Award recipient who completed 56 community service hours in 2017. 

Marie Wolf was WNY OVSA Gold Award and PVSA Silver Award recipient who completed 451.5 hours in 2017,  100.5 hours spent volunteering with Ohana100.  Marie volunteers at Williamsville North helping to manage the schools store, a Sunday school teacher,  and a teachers helper at Linburgh Elementary.

Recipients of Hawaii OVSA Gold Award and PVSA Bronze Award community service hours in 2017 were David Mattson Sr., Karen Scharfenstein, Lois Tagami, Rose Leong, Lacy Deniz and Sheena Juliano.

2016 OVSA AND PVSA Recipients

Ohana100 Team contributed a combined total of 1,364 community service hours in 2016, earning a team PVSA Gold Award.   This award would not have been possible without the support and dedication of all our volunteers in Hawaii and WNY, who donated their time to Ohana100, serving children.  Mahalo again for believing in our literacy mission.  

Ava Alders is our first young adult OVSA Gold Award and PVSA Silver Award recipient who completed 208 hours in 2016.  As was a full-time Student at the University of Hawaii and a U.S Coast Guard Seaman, Ava was able to donate her time to volunteer with Ohana100. She read with 60 Aiea EL Head start students twice a month.  She also volunteered with other organizations. 

Catherine Mattson is our youngest OVSA Gold Award and PVSA Gold Award recipient who completed 147 community service hours in 2016.  In 2015, Catherine read with a little over 500 children around the island of Oahu.
